Cirrus HD-OCT

high resolution eye exams for macular degeneration, glaucoma, diabetes in lafayette indianaCirrus HD-OCT
This state-of-the-art device allows us to get highly detailed images and measurements of the most important parts of the retina. The retina can be compared to the film of a camera. This device helps us with diagnoses, management, and monitoring of a wide variety of eye diseases such as: macular degeneration, glaucoma, diabetes, hypertension issues of the retina and structural issues such as macular holes or swelling.

Humphrey Automated Visual Field

Many times, subtle changes in your peripheral vision are not noticed. The Humphrey Automated Visual Field allows us to detect any vision loss that you may not have noticed otherwise. This is important for conditions such as; Glaucoma, optic neuritis, retinal blood vessel blockage, brain tumors, ptosis (droopy lids), auto-immune conditions like lupus, and many others.

Pachymeter

When diagnosing various eye problems, including glaucoma, Ultrasound Pachymetry allows us to better prescribe a course of treatment. It is also used to help determine whether someone is a good LASIK candidate. When measuring the pressure of the eye for glaucoma, many measurements are inaccurate because the front surface of the eye, or the cornea, is thicker or thinner than normal. Thin corneas alone, regardless of the eye pressure, have also been found much more often in people with glaucoma.

Quantifeye

Macular Degeneration eye vision test Lafayette IndianaQuantifeye
There is now a device called QuantifEYE that measures the relative health of your macula. Your eye care professional can now better determine your risk for Age Related Macular Degeneration (AMD) simply by determining other risk factors and getting your MPOD measurement.

Prior to this exam, you will be asked questions to assess what other risk factors you may have that can be associated with developing AMD. The test using the QuantifEYE device is simple, quick, non-invasive, and does not require dilation prior to examination. A base-line measurement is taken, and the results are your MPOD score.

If you happen to test low (low MPOD scores = increased risk for AMD) to medium, your Eye Care professional may recommend supplementation to restore depleted levels of zeaxanthin and lutein in your macula. With MPOD testing and supplemental intervention, it is possible to increase the pigment levels in your macula, thus lowering your risk for vision loss. Your eye care professional will then be able to determine through follow up screenings if nutritional intervention is resulting in increased macular pigment.

Ask for this important test today. It's not too early to take steps to preserve your vision and restore your eyes to a healthier state.

You can then compare them all at once and choose the style that looks best on you! Did you ever wonder what you would look like if your eyes were a different color? The Smart Mirror takes your picture and shows how you will look with all the new colors. You don't even have to try a lens on! Come in and give it a try. You won't believe your eyes!

Mather Vision Group recently added the state-of-the-art Visioffice® eyeglass lens measurement system. Manufactured by Essilor of America, Inc., the Visioffice allows our eyecare professionals  to capture 3-D images of patients’ eyes to provide more accurate, personalized eyeglass lenses for every visual need. The Visioffice measures the exact location of each eye individually, as well as the visual behavior of the patient.

No two eyes are exactly the same – similar to our hands or feet, Thanks to the Visioffice, we can now take precise measurements of each individual eye, unlike previous techniques that measure both eyes together, to offer the most individualized lenses possible to best correct patients’ vision issues. These lenses – Eyecode™ lenses – are only available from practices with the Visioffice. Click here to see the video.
