Advanced Eye Exams

Routine Eye Checkups

Refraction Test

This is one of the more familiar tests: it forms the basis of most eye exams. This test determines the prescription that you need to see as clearly and comfortably as possible and serves as a basis for determining your contact lens prescription as well. The alignment of the eyes and their focusing ability are taken into account in order to determine whether there is a problem that can be corrected with glasses, contacts, exercises, or surgery.

Cataract Pre- & Post-Op Care

Cataract surgery is a procedure used to remove the natural lens in the eye when it becomes clouded, and replace it with an artificial lens in order to restore clear vision. Cataract surgery is indicated when the cataract impairs vision to the extent that it interferes with normal daily activities. It is one of the most frequently performed surgical procedures in the world.

Lasik Eye Surgery Counseling

Lasik eye surgery is a revolutionary alternative to glasses and contacts. By now, it has become familiar enough that many people already know a good deal about it, or even know someone who has had it done. If you are considering this surgery, please read the article below and speak to your optometrist about eligibility.

LASIK Eye Surgery and PRK Counseling

Not everyone is a good candidate for laser correction surgery and it is our job to help you with that determination. The stability of your prescription over time and the accuracy of your prescription are very important factors. Other factors such as dry eye, pupil size, corneal thickness and curvature, and diseases other than in the eyes that may effect proper healing are taken into consideration. It will be required by the surgery centers that you have a fully dilated exam.
